The landscape of the MiQP Club Competition looked a lot different this year, as some successful clubs from 2011 disappeared and names from the past re-appeared.

For the third year in a row, the top spot amongst Michigan clubs was occupied by the Blossomland Amateur Radio Association.  Despite having their "big gun" (perennial high power single op stalwart Earl, N8SS) sidelined from illness, they still amassed fourteen scores (the highest number of entries for a club in 2012).  The Blossomland total of 278,023 points was anchored by the #3 and #6 single-op high-power scores from K9RON and N8OL respectively, and the KX8D #4 multi-single score.

The second place club, the Michigan contingent of the Ohio-based North Coast Contesters with 246,108 points, is making their first appearance in the top the Michigan club rankings.  NCC garnered their total from only two leading Michigan mobile entries; the #1 mobile multi-operator score by K8MR/m and the #2 mobile single-operator score by W8CAR/m.

In third place is a club which has been a winner many times in the past, but has been occasionally missing from the rankings in recent years.  We welcome the L'Anse Creuse Amateur Radio Club back to the leaders box with 196,575 points.  L'Anse Creuse fielded six scores this time, led by the #2 multi-multi score#3 QRP single-op entries by N8LC.

Among the out-of-state clubs, the top two finishers swapped positions from 2011.  The South East Contest Club  stepped up from #2 last year and grabbed the top spot among out-of-state clubs with a score of 79,301 points from six entries.  At the top of their contributors was the #1 Eastern Region single-op score from N4PN.

In second place was the Minnesota Wireless Association with 37,960 points.  MWA also had six entries, including the NĜEO #2 Non-Michigan multi-op score.

Coming in third for their first showing in the Out-Of-State Club leaders box was the Delara Contest Team with 33,120 points.  Delara had only two entries, but one of these was KV8Q's #5 Eastern Region single-op score.

Once again, we would like to point out that scores for an in-state club must be made from Michigan, and scores for an out-of-state club must be made from outside of Michigan.  In some cases, there were clubs which had member scores from both areas.  In these cases we treat the member's scores outside the club's "home" region as a separate club, and if there were two or more such entries, these appear in the results.  (For example, MRRC had six entries from Ohio, so these are shown as "MRRC non-MI".)
